Shipping & Handling

At North Coast Coffee your coffee is roasted AFTER you place your order.  We do this to ensure that you get the freshest coffee possible from our company and, of course, we want you to get that coffee as soon and as inexpensively as possible.

In the past, we have mainly used Priority Mail to ship coffee orders, because it was the best value timewise and costwise for our customers.    However, due to the recent increase in postal costs for Priority Mail, we believe that if your order is two pounds or more it  may be to your advantage to have it shipped UPS ground.  The U.S. Postal Service is now charging different  rates based on Postal Zones which are determined by zipcode.    Mainly it is a matter of paying more to ship something that is farther away.  That’s logical, isn’t it?  It is also somewhat confusing, because there are a lot of zipcodes in this great country!

For your convenience, our shopping cart has a feature that will enable you to make a choice about your shipping preference.  When you choose a coffee and add it to the shopping cart you will -be taken to a page and asked to type in your zipcode.  The computer will automatically determine which Zone you are in.  You will then have the option of choosing UPS Ground Residential or UPS Ground Commercial or U.S.  Priority Mail.  You will be able to compare the prices of all shipping options before you place your order.  (Please note that if you are ordering one pound of coffee, Priority Mail is still your best  choice.)
